Με ιδιαίτερη ευχαρίστηση ανακοινώνουμε ότι το 1ο Φεστιβάλ Αραβικού Κόσμου Κέρκυρας (1st Corfu Arabian World’s Festival) που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Κέρκυρα απο 1-6 Απριλίου 2011.
Το Φεστιβάλ υλοποιείται από την ΜΚΟ CulturePolis [Φόρουμ της Ευρώπης των Πολιτισμών: Παράρτημα Αδριατικής-Ιονίου], που λειτουργεί από το 2006 με έδρα την Κέρκυρα
Ως διεθνές φόρουμ πολιτιστικής συνεργασίας στην Ευρω-Μεσογειακή λεκάνη, στο πλαίσιο του έργου «Φεστιβάλ Διαπολιτισμικού Διαλόγου—Πολιτιστική Συνάντηση Δύσης-Ανατολής», που συγχρηματοδοτείται κατά 50% από το πρόγραμμα της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης «Πολιτισμός 2007-2013». Το έργο αυτό έχει επικεφαλής εταίρο το Δήμο Santa Severina (Καλαβρία, Ιταλία) και άλλους εταίρους τους Δήμους Crotone (Καλαβρία, Ιταλία) και Puerto Pueblas (Μούρθια, Ισπανία) και το CulturePolis από Ελλάδα.
Στόχος του Φεστιβάλ Διαπολιτισμικού Διαλόγου – του οποίου η σημασία γίνεται ακόμη σημαντικότερη αυτήν την περίοδο που αλλάζει δραματικά το πολιτικό τοπίο στα Αραβικά κράτη, είναι η προβολή της δημιουργικότητας σε ένα διαπολιτισμικό και διαθρησκευτικό διάλογο μεταξύ ντόπιων και Μουσουλμάνων σε επιλεγμένες ευρωπαϊκές πόλεις / χώρες, μέσω ανάκτησης των αρχαίων πολιτιστικών και ιστορικών δεσμών με τον Αραβικό κόσμο, προβολής / προώθησης της καλλιτεχνικής δημιουργίας όπως λογοτεχνία, ζωγραφική και παραγωγή μύθων καθώς και ενθάρρυνσης νέων λογοτεχνικών ταλέντων μέσα από ένα ανοικτό διεθνή διαγωνισμό αφηγήματος για νέους, να περιγράψουν πως βλέπουν την ενσωμάτωση, τη μετανάστευση και τη συνάντηση των κόσμων Ανατολής-Δύσης.

We have the pleasure to announce the new dates of the “1st Corfu Arabian World’s Festival”, to take place in Corfu, from 1 – 6 April 2011. The Festival is implemented in the framework of the project “Intercultural Dialogue Festival-Cultural Encounter between East and West”, Grant Agreement N0 2009/0908”, co-funded up to 50% by the European Union “Culture 2009-2013 Programme”
The project partners organising their respective festivals are: from Italy, Calambria the Municipalities of Santa Severina (lead partner) and Crotone, from Spain the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, Spain, and from Greece the Corfu based Greek NGO CulturePolis-Europe of Cultures Forum: Adriatic-Ionian Chapter, which joined the project in 2010 and organises the Corfu festival.
The project is based on the principle that multicultural Europe is based on humanistic and spiritual traditions, which are the source of its dedication to freedom and human rights, as well as on pluri-secular interaction with other regions, civilisations and cultural expressions among which the Arabic world holds a primordial position, namely in regards to the Southern Mediterranean European countries. The Festival has been conceived on UNESCO’s definition of Culture : “Culture… is … the whole complex of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features that characterize a society or social group. It includes not only arts and letters, but also modes of life, the fundamental rights of the human being, value systems, traditions and beliefs”, adopted by the Mexico declaration on the Cultural Dimension of Development at the World Conference on Cultural Policies, MONDIACULT, Mexico City, 1982.
